The project of international cooperation INTERREG IIIa „Zemplin water way“ between Slovakia and Hungary, was focused on studying navigability of the water courses Bodrog, Latorica and Laborec in the stretch between Hungarian border and Vojany on Laborec.
The part of the project is also an „Incidence Study on Environment“. The study was focused mainly on possible human activity, which represents all the study of navigability of the water courses and their impact on the environment of Bodrog region.
Particularly, however, the impacts on protected areas Natura 2000 and PLA Latorica were monitored, which form areas rich in rare ecosystems and habitats.
The Study was also focused on impacts of the activities, which regard the possible development of the region „Medzibodrožie“ – and mainly on evaluation of the assumptions of tourism by natural factors.
From the viewpoint of environment the matrix evaluation methods of impact on environment were used. Impacts on environment were evaluated in nine variants with use of „Checklist“, with a help of additional supporting documents concerning regional territorial system of ecological stability and also current legislation in the area of environment. The study does not make up the process EIA.
