The WRI in Bratislava is one of the partners of the Slovak – Hungarian project 144-11-019 and its task is to evaluate the impact of the technical solutions proposed for the purpose of improvement of ecological and water management conditions in the determined territory, quality of surface and groundwaters and also the socio-economic conditions.
Current water quality in the Latorice was analysed, an expert monitoring of the whole river system in the determined area focused on macro-phytos, water quality and sediments was carried out. Following the proposed technical solution – which was provided by the main researcher of the project – the Slovak University of Technology Bratislava, a prospective estimate of surface water quality in the designed canal system in the Slovak part of the determined territory was carried out.
