Project objectives
- to change the generally practiced patterns of water utilization leading to inefficient use and pollution of water resources
- to raise awareness of youth, public, local authorities and water manager
- to prevent deterioration of water quality and ensure rational use of water
Key message to be passed target audience:- explain the importance of protection and rational utilization of water sources, the inevitable role of water to biosphere and mankind by campaign focused on public - showing the public the way how to save water in their everyday use (households, gardens, etc.) – slogan - “Water is life””
- explain the consequences of the water pollution that can cause the ecological disasters and underline the waste water treatment, showing the way how to avoid the pollution of underground water by dangerous chemicals – slogan - “Water pollution can kill you”
- concentrate on spreading of information about drinking water sources protection regarding their quantity (due to climate changes) and their quality (due to overexploitation, pollution from industry and agriculture, etc.) – slogan “ Glass of drinking water over gold”
- enhance the interest of the children in water issue - help them to understand the water cycle and water related problems, make them understand WHY and present them HOW to protect water in everyday life – slogan “Play and learn about the water”
- influence the positive attitude of the public to water protection and rational use by campaign including website and other measures and influence the change of patterns and habits of water use among stakeholders
- address the institutions involved in water management – to stimulate the acquaintance among representatives of Ministry of the Environment of SR (Water Section), Slovak Water Management Enterprise, water supply companies, local environmental authorities and regional environmental authorities, Slovak Towns and Villages Association in order to search the most effective ways of mutual communication and progress regarding water management
