Impact Factor
All current contents journals are evaluated in various fields of science by WOS (Web of Science).
Assessments of each journal is done according to the median impact factor (IF) for the science area. IF of journal for each year is disclosed and usually reflects not only the success of the magazine, but also its contributors - authors of articles. http://www.elsevier.com/wps/find/homepage.cws_home.
Calculation example:
IF2008 = X / Z
where X is average annual number of magazine articles for two years in a row (2006, 2007) cited in indexed journals
Z is a total average number of articles published two years in a row (2006, 2007)
